Always Follow Your Heart

Always Follow Your Heart …

Life is not always kind

and at times love is out of sight.

It will be alright –

as long as you follow your heart.

The night might seem dark

as storm clouds gather,

lightning and thunder flashing above.

Life might take you upon a stormy sea,

but there is hope for a brighter tomorrow,

when you can leave behind all sorrow.

Hope that the morning will dawn,

even if things seem so out of sync,

it will be alright –

Just follow your heart.

Have you ever seen your dreams?

Like colorful balloons,

floating high in the sky,

seemingly out of reach –

but oh, so beautiful.

Bringing precious memories,

reminding us of the love we share.

You can reach out

and know that there are special dreams,

that with time become reality.

It will be alright –

as long as you follow your heart.

Has the road ever seemed,

so very long,

that at the crossroads –

you don’t know which way to turn.

Always trust your instincts

and your heart will tell you the rest,

never put it to the test –

Just follow your heart.

Look toward smiles,

that are bright and genuine,

never cold and false.

Look for eyes that shine,

with love and warmth,

when tears fall unchecked,

like a swift flowing river.

Know that eventually,

even rivers become calm,

be daring and take a look –

at what is around the river’s bend.

Know that our love will continue to glow,

as long as we keep holding on,

to the dreams we share

and always follow your heart.

Sometimes, it is almost impossible to follow your heart when your head is in full scale disagreement. Your words reminded me of what we can lose in life, if we always follow our heads. Thank you for the gentle reminder.
