One Day We’ll Meet

One Day We'll Meet
One Day We’ll Meet

I saw your face today, in the chaos of the crowd,
and from that one single moment,
as if an angel I had found,
you glided like a bird across a gloaming sky,
like the motion of a breeze,
and I felt it so completely as you passed me by.

My heart was set afire, I felt weak at the knees,
and from that single moment, I knew,
I could not ignore what my heart did plea,
so I followed you so hypnotized,
into walkways and corridors of city-scapes and rise,
until you dropped into a cafe, to my heart’s surprise.

A lover you did meet,
and in love your heart spoke so clearly,
as mine died slowly in the shadow of your smile,
and I stood there in silence, no words to speak,
wondering if one day I would know what I need,
until then I must live in hope, my love in waiting.

I saw a face today, in the bustle of the crowd,
and I smiled for knowing, a smile that lived in love,
and as much as I wanted that, she was free,
another life in the crowd as my heart whispered to me,
my love is out there, one face in the street,
and I cling to the hope, one day we’ll meet.

How romantic ! T’would be so wonderful to meet that one who will make life complete. Alas, it seems t’will not happen in my life, so I write to give that life to one of my characters. Sigh ! Great work, Tony.
