Many Starry Nights

Starry nights,

are for wishing

and for dreaming,

they’re for romancing

and dancing.

Starry nights,

so brilliant and bright,

as the stars twinkle –

merrily above.

I love to watch the show,

on windy nights,

as the clouds,

hide and uncover –

the stars one by one.

When the moon,

seems to be smiling,

as the shadows,

play with moonbeams –

he too likes what he sees.

Starry nights,

in the autumn,

as the north winds,

start to blow,

leaves blowing through the skies,

crunching  beneath my feet –

clouds sailing by.

A cold and harsh sky ,

in the winter,

when the stars,

seem like frozen crystals

and even the moonbeams –

bring no warmth.

Still beautiful,

as silvery snowflakes,

make the black sky, bright.

In the springtime,

when flowery scents,

waft on the gentle breezes,

the stars no longer in a frozen sky,

the moon now glows –

as warm as candlelight.

In the summer,

dancing  beneath,

the twinkling stars,

from moon beam to moon beam,

delighting in the shadows –

that flitter here and there.

creating shadow pictures,

as the wind,

whispers through the leaves –

like tender lullabies.

Starry nights,

were made for dreaming,

there isn’t a season,

that doesn’t provide,

a starry night,

to delight in.

So give me a starry night,

my love by my side

and soft  kisses beneath –

a moon shining bright.

The stars have always been a wonder and for lovers a sense of hope and eternal love, no matter the season. Great work Rasma.

Lovely verse, Rasma. Stars hold so much wonder and joy for us. They fill our hearts with love year round.
