For What We Abide, Awareness

For What We Abide, Awareness
For What We Abide, Awareness

In memory of all that’s lost,
in perpetuity of all that needs purchase,
thoughts of old find place in or out of mind,
for what they meant,
what kindness they bestowed
or lessons they did grow from pain.

They linger as reminders,
glimmers of past that haunt for reason
our sentient moments,
so often lost to possibilities unrealized,
wishes we derive from needs we imagine,
until lost or found yields worth.

Strange beasts we,
complex in our rendering
yet simple in our predictability,
for we are transparent, our will and egos the driver
of circumstances that often bare our ineptitude,
our lack of self-awareness unenviable.

Yet arrogantly we push on in self-belief,
continue to grasp our failures and let go our learning,
until within circles we live,
oblivious to change and the lessons
so necessary in growth,
and wonder why our lives went awry.

To face one’s truth is difficult,
the veils of delusion removed,
so that what we are, our acceptance and limitations
are revealed without filter, then
we may learn for mistakes,
accept truths and live in true freedom.

It is difficult to face our own truths. We strive so hard to learn from mistakes or past grief and pain, and what are we left with? Our own truths. Hopefully we can go within and listen to the voice of our souls to find peace, balance, harmony and love. Great work, Tony.
