Writers on the web

Writers on the web

The looming of a storm

Where words begin to form

Like a dream outside your head

Penned thoughts are never dead

Writing on the web

Clouds are shifting in the sky

Her mind’s a puzzle to align

She tries to get away

Shadows haunt the grave

Gypsy writing in the night

Her pen can draw the light

Shifting in the sky, yeah

It will take you deep inside

There’s a world behind your eyes

Magic’s in the line

Truth is what you’ll find

A journey from the fray

Where poetry can sway

It takes you deep inside, yeah

Where words begin to form

Like a dream outside your head

Penned thoughts are never dead

I have always enjoyed writing as a creative and healing outlet. Although I am not a formally trained poet, I have found a natural inclination to explore its remarkable power and beauty. I gravitate towards rhyming verse, free of any constraints, and strive to create an experience through sound, flow, and imagery. I am a writer at Allpoetry.com. and a proud Mother of two beautiful boys. Thank you for visiting.

Poe would have loved this Melissa as I do. I loved the words, the rhythm,

“Like a dream outside your head

    Penned thoughts are never dead

    Writing on the web”

Lovely verse, I felt the oncoming storm and your words so perfectly formed. Bravo, loved it.

Thank you John, yes I was happy to see you used the repeat stanza as well, I nearly removed it, but decided to stay true to the format. This was fun! 🙂

Aww, thanks Tony. This was a fun little challenge. I have shut down on my poetry, since the working of my memoir has been taking most of my writing time. Good to have a prompt now and then, to get me going, and thinking about something else. 🙂

      Best,
      Mel
