Now Is the Time

Why do people say you’ve got nothing but time

When this life could easily stop on a dime

Today could be filled with happiness or with sorrow

But there may not be another tomorrow

So embrace every moment there is today

Live this day today as if it were that someday

Cherish the laughter and the pain

Learn to dance even in the rain

Find a smile even if it’s with a tear

Because now is all the time we have here

Follow your heart for all it’s worth

Leave your own mark upon the earth

There’s usually a reason a dream gets its start

A reason it takes root deep within a heart

But how are dreams supposed to grow wings to use to fly

Among the excuses for another time

This is not simply some silly little whim

Now’s the time to find out if you’ll sink or if you’ll swim

Cherish the laughter and the pain

Learn to dance even in the rain

Find a smile even if it’s with a tear

Because now is all the time we have here

Follow your heart for all it’s worth

Leave your own mark upon this earth

It really makes no difference how old you are

Please, oh please, don’t you waste another breath

If there is a spark deep within your heart

Live for it, take a step – just a small step

Cherish the laughter and the pain

Learn to dance even in the rain

Find a smile even if it’s with a tear

Because now is the only time we have here

Follow your heart for all it’s worth

Leave your own mark upon the earth

Wise words Shannon, as we only have the present moment, and who knows when the journey ends. Nicely penned and inspirational work. Cheers!

Hi, Tony. We all need inspiration in our lives.

Great rhyming scheme – isn’t it amazing how each of us view time differently? Some see it as a ticking time bomb while other see it as the doorway to all things great and wonderful. Very enjoyable piece.

Thanks. I think it depends on what mood we are in. For instance, I always have hope in the back of my mind and dreams. But it isn’t always something I feel at my low points.
