I’ve always been fascinated by fairy tales and as a child there was a show every Sunday that recreated many of the Brothers Grimm tales and I was spellbound. The show was hosted by a twenty odd year old Shirley Temple and each week I looked forward to this hour of television.
The concept of moral tales and stories with some kind of message has always remained in my psyche, and as a writer in story telling, each one of my many novels has a thread of this moral question. I love the use of classical poetic language and thought as a project, I would write some tales of fantasy that gave some truths and life lessons to the reader. This small book is the culmination of that work and I believe the reader will discover some profound truths and meanings in each of the nine works within ‘Tales from the Inner Self’.

Alone, the walk of denial ceased,
and flooded was she to see the evidence,
the truths that sprung like blooms
upon the path
that in her heart rang true,
as wisdom gleaned from dust.
And she stalled not
but leaned down to pluck one flower,
its beauty a reminder of halcyon days
of child life,
joyous smiles and colored beauty,
the freedom of heart bared to the world.
Then set in gaze upon that bloom,
she knew how she had wronged herself,
her vision far from right,
a reflection of her perceptions of want,
her denial of the falling self.
