Resistance is Puerile, Just See
As diaphanous clouds waft by,
silent streaming in slow articulate sighs,
I can but watch life in bloom,
no blame or judgement
as weighted thoughts assume,
can alter its unencumbered flow.
How different sentient life,
too enthralled by dramas so contrived,
no petal of that flower unfurled to the heart,
rather derived from self and closed from start,
to render flow inept in human life, only
concerned with bettering plight.
Yet plight is squandered by ambivalence,
reticence and turbulence,
jaded paths and blame so tense,
reality falls from sight
and sent to darkness,
where confusion reigns.
We are so intent on status,
when all life needs is acceptance,
taking part and dismissing fear
so we can see what gift we’re given,
not hidden in our walls of thought security,
light-less life and in the end, obscurity.
I watch those aphonic clouds,
silently mouthing words of worth,
flowing and not resisting the earth
that shows us all,
if only we would see, beyond our needs,
to let truth soar in our questioning minds.

I cannot imagine what it would be like to not be open to the beauty of life in all forms. To resist is to enclose one’s self in a murky bubble. Great piece, Tony.
Thanks Phyllis, glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
