Peace Table – A Plea For Simplicity

Peace Table – Where I join with the voice of Paul Neglia

peace table
Peace Table Where We Break Bread Together

Please gather with us at the Peace Table
Speak freely and candid, we are able
To turn one voice into thunder from many,
This is simple to do, it is nothing uncanny.

The table we sit at is perfectly square,
Symbolic of balance and harmony,
We don’t see colors, only people there,
At this table crafted lovingly from simplicity.

We care not if young, old, or whatever your gender,
Your voice is paramount to condemn hatred
And racial riots! We strongly wish to render
Peace in this world, where race is berated.

We pray wisdom will prevail in days to come,
Our hearts are open to love and hospitality,
We are reaching out to all, not just some,
To become one voice that cares for humanity.

Let us not forget we all suffer the ire
Of those who propagate hatred and death,
As they take pleasure in a roaring fire
Of political machinations with each breath.

Life is short, too short to live in reverse,
May we all go forth as brothers and sisters, One
In the eyes of the Creator and Universe,
Where we were meant to love and become ~

A mighty force of peace, balance and harmony,
As Mother Nature kindly and daily shows us,
That love and peace can last for eternity,
And glows with light, beautiful and just.

Please gather with us at the Peace Table
Speak freely and candid, we are able
To turn one voice into thunder from many,
This is simple to do, it is nothing uncanny.

“Sometimes simple words can cure the world, can it be so simple as to
put one foot forward and speak.”
– Paul Neglia

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

    Phyllis,

This poem is magnificent, and so touching. “Life is too short to live in reverse”; your poem flows peacefully with such a smooth rhythm, and simple elegance. You make it look so easy as if you were speaking poetry since your first intake of breath, at birth.

Well thank you very much, Tamara. So glad you like the work and I really appreciate your praise. It perks me up after a long, tedious day of chores. Take care.

I believe everyone here understands that, Tamara. We are all in the same boat and have personal tasks and chores to tend to, we all have a life outside TCE and personal priorities. I so appreciate all you do to try and give attention to everyone, it is very admirable. Thank you. And please don’t feel bad. I have spent a lot of time today setting up newsletters, writing procedures, working with members through our gmail, writing posts, editing posts – and that is just on TCE. I also had a lot to do around my home. So, I really do understand what you are concerned about. Take care.

The more voices are gathered, the more chance that humanity can tip the scales and find peace. The problem is indifference, as people have come to expect the negative and feel powerless against it. If all those of peace gathered and stood as one, hatred would fall and life would change. So nicely rendered in simplicity as love is the only way. Great work Phyllis.

Honored to say the least. Thank you so much for passing the message along in your writing as well. I am at a loss for words. A sincere thank you to you my friend. We have to speak up and preach peace and love amongst all races or else we will drown in this evil wave of violence.

Oh so pleased you like it, Paul. Yes, we do need to speak up and pass along the plea in hope it will keep spreading to make a huge impact. Thank you so much, Paul.

Paul started the peace table movement and I thank you for spreading the word, Phyllis. I see Tony has joined the table and I myself will soon. Great job here

Thank you, John. I hope more people join and help spread the word. I know there are people all over the world who want peace, but are afraid to speak out, or as Tony mentioned: they are indifferent. Let’s hope our words bring about what we so long for.

Awesome piece as always. If only all would look at the world through the eyes of a poet and then there would be peace.
