Writers on the Web by Tony DeLorger

Writers on the web
Writers on the web
Exploring words unsaid,
Our egos having shed,
As writers we have bled,
Our muse can never end,
Writers on the web
Sharing all we know,
Our writing what we’ve sewn,
Hearts upon our sleeves,
The truth in all our deeds,
Cathartic as it may,
Our craft in stark display,
Sharing all we know, yeah
Writers gotta love your art,
Poets words transcend the heart,
Beauty sought and found,
Thoughts become profound,
Immortal words are penned,
Beauty never ends,
Gotta love your art, yeah

I love it ! You kept the rhyme and flow very nicely, and your words are spot on. Well done, Tony.
Thanks Phyllis, a bit of fun!
Lovely! “…As writers we have bled…” love this! Now, this one will also be playing in my head; my head is only so big 🙂 Your words tell the story of the writers’ very essence, especially when you added that “..yeah..” to it… lol.
Loved this!
Thanks Tamara, glad you enjoyed my take. Cheers!

Immortal words indeed. Excellent job my friend, I did very much enjoy your verse here. I have to agree with Tamara you have so eloquently described the writer’s essence. Great work
Much appreciated Paul, glad you enjoyed it my friend.
I especially like the last stanza, good rhythm and rhyme.
Much appreciated John. Cheers
Beautiful poem, Tony. I especially love the image of “our egos having shed/as writers we have bled” (I just realized I even memorized it); I believe that when we are able to do so is the moment we create our very best work. I also feel that it is the hardest part. At least it is for me.
I agree, our emotions when painted on a page are quickly grasped by the reader, the deeper the emotions the more profound the feeling and that is a good thing. Being free to reveal ourselves without qualm is another matter, and as writers we need to address that in our transparency for the honesty and elevation of our craft. Glad you enjoyed this work. Cheers!
So smooth, as always Tony! We certainly have bled, and your muse is always flowing. Enjoyed it, so fun to play along, and come together on the same page. Lovely.
Best,
Mel
Much appreciated Mel, a bit of fun. Take care
