Knowing Our Thoughts and Why…Pathways

New pathways inspire…
Propensity dictates
the repetitive thoughts we espouse,
learned and contrived
to keep life in balance, as we know it,
yet what veiled thoughts
care not to enter light,
when we so intentionally
and often subconsciously,
keep them burdened by doubt
and out of sight.
What paths we cull
in our inveterate dismissals,
when fate would have us
escalate our dreams
and aspire to worlds unknown,
yet we in our stumbling thoughts and fancy,
see not the opportunities
hidden in that field of thoughts sewn,
and what revelations and epiphanies await,
for all the choices we do not make.
Shake up the mind at every corner,
newness is a vacation for the soul,
and the heart may still follow its intended path,
yet the way it leads can make us whole,
as repetition is just the path
of least resistance,
when life is designed for learning
from failures of persistence,
so follow paths in streets unseen,
destinations know yet the journey to glean.
Yes, propensity dictates,
yet we must reiterate its worth,
know when tangents are opportunities,
and straight lines offer impunity,
then we are aware of life’s play,
its ever-changing array of choices
that bring us the gifts of learning,
and can avoid the failures that haunt us,
the pain that can be unnecessary
when we know our thoughts and why.

Our own thoughts are often kept hidden from us, for whatever reason. When we acknowledge, understand them then pain can be healed. Very inspiring verse, Tony.
Wise words, Phyllis…subconscious thoughts can affect our actual actions, though we might not be aware of the thoughts.
My profound thoughts usually come from Tony’s influence. He is my #1 thought provoker. 🙂 Thank you, Tamara.
Thanks Phyllis, glad you appreciated the work my friend. Take care.
Tony,
This is thought-provoking, and I find your words of “…a vacation for the soul…” very soothing. Thank you for sharing this!
My pleasure and pleased you enjoyed it Tamara. Take care,.
You’ve taken knowing our thoughts to a different level my friend. Often we dwell or reside in them more than we should, yet to be without them, it would be like losing a part of our body. For without them we are but empty, drained of living a full productive life. Good or bad the outcome, thoughts must never be eliminated from our being. Very thought provoking verses indeed, you always take me to heights of a different level in your thought processing sir. Well done, cheers.
Thanks Vincent, so glad you relate to my musing and enjoy the expression my friend. Thank you sincerely for your support and kindness. Take care
