Journey Well My Friend, the Road Will Never End

Journey well into unknown lands,
seek not the restitution of familiarity,
but the invigoration of the new,
no matter how that contradicts one’s expectations,
for change is life eternal
and the further and more profound the journeying
the more malleable the soul becomes,
for all that is to follow, has been and will be.
Unknown lands are the future,
now alone holds acquaintance
and all we dream beyond the now,
far from past and the realization of being;
so let go and follow the unanswerable,
for that is where questions are born,
and learning the steps to newer worlds
where possibility waits.
But one step begins the journey,
a tangent from safety and security,
but for all its uncertainty,
it bares gifts of incalculable value
and doorways to further worlds of equal prosperity,
if only we would let go the fear
that binds us to smooth surfaces
and the comfort of sameness.
Make journeys of every movement,
never the same, with never a regret,
for opportunity is set in every direction
for those open to them,
and there are no boundaries, no limitations,
only the closed doors within us
that beg the stillness of stagnancy,
and the slowing of time.

Beautiful and very inspirational verse, Tony. It is a wonderful life lesson and great piece. Anyone on a journey or wanting to take one will do well to read this. It is encouraging and positive for change and seeking the best of new worlds, letting the past go and going forward in life to wonderful possibilities. You are so right, closed doors within us are the only limitations. One must be fully open and ready for change. Well done, dear poet.
So pleased you enjoyed it Phyllis, your kind words much appreciated. take care.
