Enraptured by the Blue

Enraptured by the Blue
Enraptured by the Blue

Enraptured by smoke
as its blue ethereal ribbons rise into the flew,
each individual flow in errant waves,
crossing, touching, intersections of direction illume,
and I wonder what truth this display does impart,
as it rises in the heat,
sucked through the flew into the sleet outside;
is it drawn from will
and made to rush for its fleeting life,
or is it seeking, and release is all it craves in plight?

A diaphanous blue silk,
fluttering in the wind, guided,
seduced into the air of upward rise,
from warmth to the chill of all outside, it travels,
and crackle may the logs alight,
barks and twigs in blue fire-light
shedding self in lightest forms
to escape the inferno,
the lifeless ash to become
the aftermath of living wood now done.

Funny, the thoughts by firelight,
the perceptions of a mind in respite,
watching death in slow decaying fate,
yet glowing heart by fireside rate,
and warmth is a comfort to the soul,
outside wet and gloom transforms the night,
the day on hold for all its light-less winter sighs,
and I watch the smoke,
the twirling swirling blue, dance around the flew,
until it holds its breath and whoosh, its gone.

An intriguing moment to capture, I am endlessly amazed by your ability to capture, poetically, nearly any subject. Firelight and smoke such a worthy topic, as it can seduce the mind into such a meditative state, I imagined the flow of blue chiffon dancing, mesmerizing. Love it!

Such beauty portrayed in a simple thing, Tony. Smoke is mesmerizing and fire warms the heart, soul, and body. I love sitting next to a fireplace and really miss it. Your vivid imagery brought it back. Great work.
