Thirteen Year Anniversary

Unlucky thirteen, I’ll contend
Through all the pitfalls and the bends
Through all the journeys left to take
And all the roads that led to ache—

In thirteen years we stand combined
Never wavered, not once resigned
You own a place inside my heart
That no one knows, this giant part

A part that no one else can hold
A place I go when things get cold
For in that cozy piece of heart
For thirteen years my place to apart—

The spot where all the world will fade
And love amongst the stars portrayed
Where you and I can take the time
And hear our heartbeats fall in line—

My days with you in love so bright
Each one that lasts throughout the night
Each day becomes my favorite day
Which means tomorrow has a way

To make me fall in love afresh
One day our souls once more enmesh
And also how we can observe
When by the TV we unnerve—

And laze away the gloaming hours
Where silence in the air is ours
That in that silence we confess
With just a glance that we are blessed

Where two imperfect kids uncover
They can’t exist without each other
How real love stories have no end
And ours is one that will transcend

If but one word was more than love
It would describe what I speak of
I cannot help this passion’s trance
Each day we share I call romance.

Unlucky how I cannot see
Each day your love will blanket me
In thirteen years we’ve built this home
A greater love I’ve never known

Seems the number 13 is not as unlucky as most believe… wonderful piece Paul.

Paul – I’m a big believer that the number 13 is actually lucky (it seems to have been for you) – when I was a kid growing up, my father was promoted not once, not twice, but three times in his career and they all occurred on the 13th….actually Friday the 13th

That is some crazy irony there Ralph. I would have to agree so far with you, 13 has been good to me. Thank you for the kind words.

You know Paul, I always liked this (13) unlucky number, and it seems You do too, Your special loving poem expressed my believe that true love gets bigger and stronger as time passes by, finding new places to dwell in, to glow from, changing as it’s needed to fit the ongoing life, many temptations and circumstances there are to face, it all can be solved with understanding, share and trust, very beautiful my friend, very special, I send Your precious wife my wamest greetings, may love and happiness ever glow over You ever as one.
