Let Me Fly

Let me fly,

along with the spring breezes,

coming soon to melt away –

the chill of winter.

Let me fly,

in my daydreams,

while I listen to the songs I love

and make me remember a gentler time.

Let me fly,

as I dream sweet dreams,

with memories that come

and let me live in a different time.

Let me fly,

along with poetic words,

that like birds,

take to a frozen winter sky.

Let me fly,

explore the inspiration,

that muses gently whisper to me

and I know that glad I’ll be.

Let me fly,

far from the wintry, snowy sky,

to where palm trees dance,

in southern breezes.

Let me fly,

beneath rainbows,

stretching across the sky.

Let me fly,

as storm winds blow,

as thunder and lightning –

brings the rain pouring down.

Let me fly,

as if I am dancing,

lightly through the sky.

Let me fly,

taking you along,

expressing all that I’m feeling,

as only words can send me reeling.

Let me fly

to where the rivers flow,

on sunny summer days

and make my heart rejoice.

Let me fly,

forgetting this bitter season,

giving me a better reason,

to smile, as on the wings of poetic words –

like a soaring eagle I fly…..

And freedom is all we wish for, within love, within life, to experience all. Nicely rendered Rasma, and very much enjoyed. Take care

I loved the deeply rooted theme of nature in your piece. Also I loved the verse where you wanted the reader to join your free spirited journey and enjoy all the rewards you reap from it. I just want to fly too. Maybe in the skies we will meet…Nice piece.~Paul
