Cool Morning Rising

Cool morning rising after the hot night,
Bedding all jumbled down around our feet,
I feel the chill and pull a sheet up tight,
Over my shoulders and snuggle up close.

cool morning

Your warm body comforts me as I sleep,
All curled up and I begin to dream,
Of when we were young, promises to keep,
Promised to love and cherish forever.

Still we so love and cherish each other,
After all these years our love is stronger,
For us there has never been another,
Our love is right and true, will last longer,

Than the bright morning star that shines above,
All eternity we will be together,
For we are blessed with joy and blissful love
That keeps us forever close in spirit.

Cool morning rising after the hot night,
If only such a love was really mine.
I feel the chill and pull a sheet up tight,
Hug my pillow, dream again of love sublime.

I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am a freelance writer for Fiverr. I am currently an author on HubPages, a member/author of the Maven Coalition, and Senior Editor and an author for The Creative Exiles. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

A gentle yearning and an emotive verse of that sublime love that completes us. Well penned and heartwarming Phyllis. Lovely.

Ahh! Romantic, and fair is this poem. I can feel the thrill of being in-love by your very words alone. Your poem takes my breath away as I am remembered of true-love experiences in all of its loveliness. But, it is not my memory that serves me so well as does your wonderfully descriptive poem, and sweet words.

Phyllis, sweet poet, you deserve a True-Love who will appreciate you for all your worth, loveliness, gentleness, generous heart, and exquisiteness of heart. If he does not show up to the table, it will be the most mournful loss of his lifetime! He only injures himself the longer he waits! (I am getting angry at whoever he might be for being so slow in the gathering of such a fine treasure, as yourself!!! I think I will go beat my pillow up!!!!). Errrr!!!
