Within, the Potential of Who I Will Become

Within, the Potential of Who I Will Become
Within, the Potential of Who I Will Become

My tributaries flow with incessant pledge,
nourish life and render every breath
to keep life afloat, beating steps
to experience and growth, as
oft’ I sit in wonder of what transpires,
what, without my will aspires to be,
in time’s delicate hands, as
prone we are to fate or what life commands.

Thunderous the sounds of life,
machines in contiguous rhythms,
intricately delivering and accepting plights
of unilateral directives: to maintain, to uphold
to guide and protect the whole,
and I feel it all in motion,
transfixed by the intricacy,
the complexity that requires nothing in its simplicity.

The sway of energy, rise and fall,
is like a river surging,
and within I feel the balance of decisions,
the incisions of harm remedied,
the rise of tides like quenching thirsts,
and all by intentions I have not addressed,
simply ongoing, automatic,
this life in manifest.

Where is God if not within,
this miracle I am a handiwork of omnipotence,
and yet I gaze into the stars and pray in words,
when the words are the source of the God I address,
for within me is his benevolent hand,
I just the fruit of his labor,
and in acknowledgement I am one,
with all I yearn to be and become.
