No Matter What, I Am Free

No Matter What, I Am Free
No Matter What, I Am Free

Be free….

I shall not fear my end,
a mere moment of discovery,
and shall I not find fear in life,
at least enough to want relenting,
then happiness will surely reign
with nothing to defeat it;
so life imparts its gifts and I a sponge,
to sate every moment, every challenge,
every one, its own gift for the journey,
and what do I care for longevity,
just my loved ones in leaving, my regret,
yet, they too will arrive at my ending,
none too soon.

What worry then can undo me,
when acceptance is a yellow ribbon
tied around my trunk,
and what fear can disarm me,
when ending, the worst affront,
bares nothing but wonder;
at ease I am, the world may explode,
do its all to ruin me,
but I sitting in repose,
watching with stilled heart
the insanity of minds struggling with self,
barking up wrong trees and
limping to their own funerals.

No weight, nor regret,
just at ease with me,
and from where I sit,
no matter the insanity,
life has meaning for me, always,
despite the crazy whims of fools,
playing games with themselves,
breaking rules,
and creating havoc whatever they do,
for fear rules them:
failure, being unloved, their reality true,
chasing dreams of delusion,
to cover the unhappiness, their glue.

“life has meaning for me, always,”, excellent affirmation, Tony. No matter what, you have what matters in your heart, soul and beautiful mind. Great verse, great phrasing.
