Perceiving the Whole, an Art Within Time
All that binds is not whole,
as all that blinds cannot console the truth,
just parts a mind from resolution,
an unending question of right
unanswered completely;
and so in life
our travail the gleaning of fragments,
often misunderstood
from their undefined edges,
the whole an elusive viewpoint,
in a magnitude of infinite choices.
What is the glue,
that holds truth together,
that incorporates forever in its yielding,
and what do we truly see, if not fragments,
when the whole refuses transparency,
and we see limited remedies
to lighten the load;
yet rarely the whole is seen,
the truth completely gleaned,
when we look into questions
that reluctantly offer crumbs?
Is it our ineptitude that sparks refusal,
our incapacity to peruse a broader scope,
or is it our limited understanding that cannot process,
cannot find reason in the hope proffered,
or are we blind for our own sake,
trepidation the warning of mistakes yet made;
still, I wish I could see beyond horizons,
beyond the limits of understanding,
to proper gauge my standing,
when truth stands tall before me,
and begs acknowledgement?
Perhaps it is our fate,
to understand just enough and wait longer,
to imbibe what more there is,
and slow that gleaning as truth emerges whole,
over time an evolution,
a toll to be paid;
and maybe my frustration expected,
the very drive of seeing more,
seeking truths complete,
before my mind reaches its capacity,
or my tenacity wanes.

Very interesting. This verse reminds me of a time when I was searching so hard for a truth to questions I had. Then one night, after numerous attempts to find an answer and becoming so frustrated, I had a dream in which my guide told me I was looking too hard and the truth was right there in front of me. It is amazing, and I love it, Tony, when something you write stirs some memories and settles things for me. Great work.
Glad it does Phyllis, and pleased it helps with perspective. Cheers!
