The Destiny of Thought…what drives a life

The Destiny of Thought...what drives a life
The Destiny of Thought…what drives a life

Each moment of thought
a pathway to destinations unknown,
circumstances unrealised;
and destiny sits agog,
for it in reality is but facets of possibility,
each direction chosen
the ensuing of fate, as we ascribe.

Perhaps fate is our choice,
what we choose in movement,
and how we grow within circumstance,
how we respond to life’s challenges,
our destiny in a soul’s enlightenment,
destined only by our innate ability
to choose what’s right for us.

Thus destiny awaits us,
and each second of thought may rearrange,
indeed change direction,
doors opening and closing at our whim,
and the consequences of our choices
the very driving of our lives, our experience,
as we so stray from plans, seek dreams and forge pathways.

Stillness of thought, a quiet consideration,
ensures a wanted direction,
and no hast has ever furnished pure outcomes,
for thought is all we have to determine life,
and the more clear and resolute our thoughts,
the more life presents itself
in full disclosure.

We are the pilot in life,
no plan dictates our path,
albeit our own perception of what is right for us,
so trust in the self, the inner knowledge of the soul,
to guide us through experience,
to higher realms of understanding,
for that is the simple process of growth and truth.

I am so glad to read this, Tony. I once had a discussion with several people on destiny. My belief is we can tweak destiny with thought, choices, preferences. Most disagreed with me. Thank you for writing this very well-penned verse. Great work.

Glad you related Phyllis, and I’ve always believed we design our own destiny, fate just a term we use when we don’t want to take responsibility. Cheers!
