The Reality of Life

I had a beautiful dream …

Is it wonderful?

I had a beautiful dream
the sun was setting over the bay
golden, shimmering over the water
then I woke up…
Life

in the afternoon the sun was shining,
evening brought the rain,
there was pain,
where old memories took me,
while the raindrops kept on splattering…
Life

my work was hard and I was tired
the day seemed endless and
I wanted to cry,
just the blues,
not really wanting to die,
not understanding why…
Life

poets find inspiration,
only when muses,
sing in their ears,
then quickly the words do flow,
sometimes they end in stagnant water,
other times they stand out crystal clear…
Life

fell in love,
head over heels,
now I have a broken heart,
nothing to smile about,
should have known you’d fail me,
right from the start…
Life

turned on the radio,
all the best old songs had flown,
someone was screaming about his life,
couldn’t understand a thing…
Life

laughter filled the air,
when my best friend and I met,
now we live so far apart,
sharing smiles from afar…
Life

my new love gave me a rose,
it smelled so wonderful,
the rose wilted in the vase,
but this time love stayed…
Life

suddenly everything seemed
like my beautiful dream –
Life

Life indeed Rasma, and like little snippets, floating like autumn leaves on a breeze, your words relay humanity, our thoughts, ups and down and what it is to live, to struggle with ourselves and the world. Nicely emotive and well penned.

Thank you Tony. I always try to steer my little life boat away from danger.
