Thoughts of You…a vacant space in a new day

Thoughts of You... a vacant space in a new day
Thoughts of You… a vacant space in a new day

When thoughts like clouds on a dawning day,
shards in radiant display all splayed on sky,
my heart recounts those sleepless nights
when love in passionate gaze
did steel those hours away.

And breathless we stirred not,
just watched as day began, in endless beauty,
hearts so filled with love’s embrace,
and bodies weary from passion’s flames,
that now subside to beauty’s bed,
where calm and slumbered dreams amend.

Dawn so rich and vibrant,
announcing day with such glorious disclosure,
always brings my mind to you,
and that once exuberance that drove each day to joy,
and in the arms of each other discovery
but a peace from old malaise,
before love knocked upon my door.

Then, as sun reaches high
to steal itself from horizon’s birthing,
and clouds fall short of thought,
but scatter into the blue possibility,
I feel not that warmth of you,
beside me a vacant space, a regretful loss,
a love once cherished
fallen to a new horizon.

Oh so emotive, so lovingly expressed of a love that once was. That vacant space is such a strong reminder of those beautiful memories. Nice work, Tony, very nice.
