Remembering Why I Love Her – My Daily Exhilaration

So close, so very close.

I find my fingertips poised in mid-air, nearly brushing the petals of the flower.

Its beauty can no longer be contained as the warm air and sunshine flood the room.

The scent bursts forth and fills me wholly and completely with a sense of headiness.

As if by magic, the rich red bud opens itself to the world.

Posturing just because it can.

Again, I reach out to touch it, and again I find something holding me back.

One cannot hope to read the mind of a flower, for it has no thoughts reserved for mortals.

It is how they say, immaculate and timeless.

It is symbolic of the ways of love and a constant reminder of everything that is her.

The source of that infinite power comes not from above, nor from mother earth.

It is made wholly by a thought, or a vision, or sometimes, a simple glance between us.

Completeness comes from the results of those powerful senses.

Trying to decide on whether to reach out and stroke the petals, or let them be.

My mind gives itself over to my better judgment and I find my hand relaxing.

It is indicative of how I feel right at this very moment.

I’m watching you like the precious flower that you are.

I want so badly to reach out and touch the smooth line of your cheekbone.

Your face, soft and tender, bathed in the warmth of your eternal smile.

The seconds passes like an eternity as your features change and begin to glow.

Neither shadow nor darkness dares encroach on the sleeper.

Awakening, languishing in the split seconds between the states of being.

He hand finds mine, intertwining and softening my calloused palms.

I find myself in awe, just as I did yesterday and every day before that.

My beautiful flower, my companion and my friend.

I am torn between touching you and just enjoying the sight of you smiling at me.

Eyes radiant but not overpowering.

A simple touch that energizes me and fills me with your light.

Since I have been away, I feel darkness has descended on me, leaving me yearning.

I’ve been dreaming of this very second.

When you and I were simply there, alone together.

My lips desire to taste yours, to drink in the life that you breathe out.

Together we shall shine, creating our very own light.

Ours is but a tiny splinter of light and yes, there are others out their, but none so bright.

Truth is found in that which is good.

We have everything in one another, and nothing unwanted.

I cannot find words to describe the way I am feeling when I’m in your presence.

What I do know I will say to you here and now, but I know you already understand.

I am nothing without you or you without me, as we exist for each other to live.

I knew nothing of true love until our chance meeting that fateful day.

Embrace me as you can no other and I shall do the same for you, now and forever.

I will hold this flower close to my heart my darling as you would my soul to yours.

Carry my thoughts with you each second of your day and never forsake them.

I am always with you, for this love is enduring.

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.
