Midnight Rains
Midnight Rains
How they always come so entwined
your memories and these midnight rains,
the silvery threads that once fondled our happy days
and knocked gently on the petals of blossoming dreams,
as we spent endless hours sketching
a lifetime on the misty window glass.
Oblivious, we stayed in an imaginary world
so removed from the realities of daily life,
not seeing the angry storm clouds that gathered
to dispel our sheer bliss of ignorance,
as truths struck like unforgiving bolts of lightning
exposing the cracks in our wobbly bond.
How quickly my mind became a battleground
armies of love and hatred tearing it apart,
just as this brooding skies split between the pleas
of wily dark clouds and sunshine,
as we hastily decided to part ways
the melody of raindrops stinging our hearts.
How I still yearn for those midnight rains
as silent as my flowing tears,
merging with them and taking them along
to some inconsequential destination,
before they recede along with your memories
leaving me blinded in the rays of the sun.

Lovely piece my dear friend. How youve equated the lonely rain to a love lost in the memory, great phrasing, great imagery, fantastic piece. Well done.~Paul

Beautiful work and a wonderful metaphor to express a lost love, and the emotive words just fall of the tongue. Nicely crafted with heart-warming phrasing and imagery. Great work Anjana.

My dear Anjana, amid the sensitive and emotional treatment here on this portraiture from your heart,
your form grabs my mind, while your words claim my heart in their ever ascending footprints, past the inevitable crescendo to the endearing ending of spent tears within the soul’s reemergence. SO beautifully written, with your heart placed majestically inside.
Thank you so much dearest Donald..I am delighted that you liked this and it is always an honor to have your words on my page..
This came from the deepest of Your heart and Your pure love, one can’t but to drawn into the sincere emotions which are weeping through Your words, I felt each line as if I’ve written them, sheer splendor, and never I expect the less from You.
I’ve been away for sometime, and I see You are too, I pray life is treating You nicely enough and You are not any sad in any way.
Hugs dearest Anjana*
This is a poem that evokes much bitter sadness from ones heart, the memories tarnished and washed drown the drain of despair from the acid rain peneterating ones soul. Parting is always so emotional, it leaves one, sometimes both parties sicken with resentment, guilt and much anger. Yet time passes and the rose blossoms again and two who once loved deeply one another may reunite or part forevermore. Very beautifully expressed Anjana
