Message In A Bottle

Message In A Bottle

Message in a bottleWhen a person is young love comes easy because you have never had your heart broken yet. Once you first encounter a breakup, then love becomes more difficult to obtain because you become somewhat jaded and you do not want to feel that hurt again.
Some people find love and it will last a lifetime and that is really what anyone wants, but the reality of it is that those people that have those types of lifelong relationship’s are very rare. Some people settle for being comfortable, but without the love, in the back of their mind they know and their heart knows if you don’t receive love from the ones who are meant to love you, you will never stop looking for it. Others, such as myself no matter how old I become still believes in romance and love. Sometimes people find that love and for whatever reason it slipped away, never to be rekindled. I am a strong believer that it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. What is life without the taste of love and the quest, the search to find it again? If love has never found you or you have lost it on the road of life, never give up and keep searching. It really isn’t the end that matters, but the search. And if by chance you are one of the rare ones that find that everlasting love, never lose the romance. Never feel sad that you are searching, take pleasure in the fact that you still have romance in your heart. If all else fails, try putting your thoughts and heart in a message in a bottle.

Message In A Bottle
My thoughts and words had meaning that I wrote,
Heart, soul and everything I feel was in the note.
In my dreams I see you, feel you, I know you exist,
Walking forward, you disappear in the fog and the mist.
I continue the search, I sense, I know you are real,
In the dark of the night you are the only thing I feel.
Message in a bottle sealed with a cork and a kiss,
As I wind up and toss it far into the ocean abyss.
You may never find it and read what I wrote,
My love for you may only exist in that far-away note.

Love is the core of life. Your introduction about seeking love is so emotive. The key is to never give up seeking, for that holds the heart open to the one intended for you. Your poem is lovely, Kurt. Maybe this is your year for love and the right one will read your message. Well done.

Love can certainly take a person for a spin. I have had my share of ups and downs and lucky to have found my soul mate and peace at last. Wonderful poetic sentiments. Congrats on your book and best of luck.

Kurt, your prose and poetry always seems to stir up real emotion and it is easy to tell it comes from life experience and from the heart. Never give up on love .. because the perfect one may be out there looking for you too. Some are lucky to have found a lifelong soul mate early on, but many more have to keep searching. Great post.

Thank you John, and I try to write from my heart. My Mom always said I wear my heart on my sleeve. I think that is a good thing in poetry? Maybe? Never jaded and with a clear head, we will see if it is for me.
