What gift we bring to humanity,
is rarely thought,
our obsession with self
the expectation of what life puts before us,
but what do we bring to the table,
what worth are we to life,
a given purpose to leave life better
for our being here?
A question of profound thought,
a tact from a different source,
that we are a part of life,
so what part are we, and what value do we serve
in the circumstances we create,
our thoughts and actions to elevate life itself,
or do we just string along, haplessly
washed ashore in a fractious sea?
Life is to be lived, to be understood,
and waiting for it to happen
just a stance of non-interaction,
expectations without effort,
a pale and unimpassioned plea,
that gives no opportunity to lead,
to discover and follow a heart,
riding on the coat-tails of providence.
The more we give to life,
the greater our gift of experience,
and in that the more we learn
and understanding each moment in our hands,
to rise in mind and soul to secrets held,
epiphanies that transform us,
truth then does follow us
to impart its sacred meld.
