Enlightenment Comes From My Own Soul

Enlightenment comes from my own soul,

enlightenment
Enlightenment Comes From my own Soul

Enlightenment comes from my own soul,
Deep within where my thoughts always go.
At these times I seek truth and wisdom
For spiritual growth, peace and freedom.

Freedom to soar far above earthly
Anchors which hold me down too firmly.
Let not daily worries interfere
With spiritual tasks I hold so dear.

The state of the world concerns me,
Wars, murders, oppression, tragedy
Have become all too common each day.
Let me now know how to find my way.

A way I can help humanity
Find the peace, healing and harmony
We so need to live with joy and love,
As the core of life to place above,

Above all things in life every day,
Each person has a skill and a way
To do what they can to help heal
Our precious world from all evil.

I am able to help as a writer
A writer and also a fighter.
I cannot go to fields of battle,
The pen is my voice and my atlatl.

Let my pen strike with accurate force
Where it does the most and is on course
Aimed at the heart of all enemies
Of World Peace and all humanity.

Let me be a Lantern Carrier
To help spread Light and Love everywhere,
And to help humanity advance
To come together in a healing dance…

Of Love and enlightenment.

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

And so is our task as writers and those committed to love and a better world. Beautifully expressed Phyllis and a heart felt plea for all of us to help heal this wayward world from the evil and ill-intent of narcissistic minds filled with greed and disdain. Lovely work.

Thank you so much, Tony. Yes, our task is before us as writers, our spears and bows are pens, words are our darts and arrows. I so appreciate your comment. Take care.
