When the Bow Breaks

When the Bow Breaks
When the Bow Breaks

And when the bow breaks,
when support is no longer attainable,
all comes down, cradle and all:
a life made, a love aspired,
to that critical point of change,
and all is null, as a new born clean slate,
when the bow breaks.

And who would know,
the bow creaking under weight of life,
all that sticks in the baggage of thought,
the mud of disdain,
and the tar of blame and more,
falls to an unwanted beginning,
a forced reassessment.

When the bow breaks I’ll know why,
for life cannot sustain an endless strife,
and without making peace,
accepting responsibility,
we will surely fall, cradle and all,
to our worst fear,
that we are wrong.

Guilt nor blame can fix the ill,
what we create in life ours alone to still,
and so when we collect our darkest woes,
at some point that bow will break,
and we for our own sake need to know,
we alone did this create,
this sad and dark recompense to take.

Words of truth. Earlier this evening two very good friends of mine helped me make a decision that has been preying on my mind. All is clear now within me, and your words of wisdom help. Thanks, Tony.

Always a pleasure, so glad you relate to my outpourings. Take care Phyllis. Having a very relaxed day today after Christmas. As always drank too much, ate too much, but happy times. Cheers!

Most truthful poetic words. I am hoping that bough won’t break and fall on my head next year. Happy, healthy and inspirational New Year to you.
