Thoughts on Twilight

Thoughts on Twilight

Thoughts on twilight

As sunlight smears sacred vermilion

on the tapering gap between day and night,

crimson ribbons released from evening’s ivory box

shades in broad strokes the unassuming skies,

mirroring the finesse of those final magical touches

of an artist crafting a beloved masterpiece.

The lilting cool breeze keeps hastening everyone

to the warmth and comfort of homes,

as hymns and prayers reverberate through thick walls

spreading an ambience of love and peace,

and wandering minds are slowly brought to a halt

on the banks of deep and inviting pools of sleep.

Often i gaze at these waning beams of twilight

with a mind steeped in childlike wonder,

as they playfully waver on my day’s chosen paths

illuminating moments of smiles and tears,

and i bid farewell to this lingering brightness

richer in wisdom and experience.

As the mellowed sun sinks into the bosom of seas

leaving all promises on hold till tomorrow,

darkness begins to cast its mysterious spell

luring me to an unexplored land of dreams,

while a crescent shaped moon like an angel’s reassuring smile

valiantly marches forth with a procession of stars.

The sky you paint was amazing my friend. The allure of the twlight is only explained so well by the artist that you are and this being the masterpiece that you give. And I received it so well. Excellent piece my friend.~Paul

Beautiful pictures you have drawn, which take my mind deeply inside their frames. Your magical phrasing brings twilight into the world of possession, each word forming a new delicious place where ending and beginning come together as one. Wonderfully written, my friend!
