Escape Love So Strong

Escape Love …

escape love

This is a metaphoric poem.

Yes, she loved him, loved him with every part of her being.
He was a big man, jovial, in love with every moment of life.
He was loud, not shouting, just a big voice as if to tell the
world how happy he was.
Nothing could sway him from that which he loved and
not any force in Heaven or hell could move him to abandon
what he loved with all his heart.

He took her, claimed her love for him, not with brute strength
but, with a love so strong she could not escape.
On an island they lived in the middle of nowhere, somewhere
in the middle of the sea.
She was his whole life, all he could ever dream of, they were
destined to be together in love, in life, for eternity.
Nothing would break his resolve to live any other way.

They would come together after a storm that ravaged
their island, come together in passion so strong
It left them breathless and crying in each other’s arms.
Often she would run, try to escape, but no where to go.
He would hunt her down with fear and passion,
wanting nothing but her and their island.
To find her and keep her was his only desire and security.

Hiding in a never before known cave, Sister came to her.
Beautiful she was, an esoteric being from beyond the veil.
I am his Sister, I am your Sister. He loves you beyond life itself.
Don’t leave him, don’t give up what he can give you.
She cried on Sister’s shoulder, cried oceans of tears.
I love him she said, more than life itself, but I am captive,
captive of my own love, my own soul. He is my very heart.

But, I need freedom. I need to fly, to soar and know
more than what is here on this island, more than
what I can see in this closed life. I must go
I must find a way and leave this all behind.
He is so strong Sister said, he is good, he loves you
and will never let you go.
He will hold you forever within his arms, within his heart.

No! I must go and she ran. Ran wildly towards a cliff.
She heard him coming, heard his voice of panic and fear.
I need you he called. Don’t leave me, don’t go.
Closer he came, faster she ran, tears blinding her.
He caught her and held her close, just before the cliff.
She went limp and lay her head in that spot on his shoulder
Where she fit so perfectly, and there she died.

She awoke from a dream, feeling devastated and so very much alone.

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.
