Worth the Pain

Worth the Pain
Worth the Pain…honesty

Clarity begets honesty,
for it is hard to dismiss truth once seen,
yet many do and prefer the safe embrace of delusion,
in some attempt to secure stability in life.

I often wish for the same,
to be oblivious to those truths
that may hurt our fragile egos,
change our perceptions of ourselves in detriment.

But I seek no more no less than clarity,
for truth to me is the very ground on which I prefer to walk,
and when a shift presents, I feel I must reconstruct the fall
to know truth more intimately.

When truth and clarity oversee our world,
tis difficult to relent,
or accept the lies of others,
for they in their delusions impact upon us.

The longer the sharpening,
the sharper the blade,
and I can no longer ignore those of lying propensity,
although I choose not to associate, in age a choice and blessing.

For tis they who forge imaginary paths,
and by reckless belief, hurt those around them,
as they walk their fantasy life
for self alone.

Perfection can never be me,
for I am human and accept needed learning,
but clarity is a choice of life, an honesty of belief,
that to me is worth the pain.

Well, I sure agree with these thoughts, Tony. I easily get fed up with people who are oblivious (or could care less) how their distorted truths affect others. I have learned that “clarity begets honesty” as you say. I am in the midst of an issue involving these same thoughts you have and can no longer ignore the issue. Great work here, Tony. Excellent phrasing, well written. Kudos!

I cannot agree more Tony..I too believe that whatever difficulties it may cause, it is always better to be associated with truth and truthful people..they may hurt us because they point out our faults, but then it is far better than being with people who mislead us with lies because I believe that no one can escape from facing truth forever..thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and beautiful words with us.. have a wonderful day!

So this seems to continue the last of yours I read and I so agree. If we never learn to see the truth we are in such sad shape, for eternity… I believe and certainly in this life too.
