My Analysis…a satire

My Analysis
My Analysis…a satire

Analysis gives me a headache!

This, my temporal foundation for decisions,
what I perceive in recognition
of all that has made sense,
in my every past events,
yet how swayed my time to find
alternate states of mind, that remind me
decisions are often based
on little more than a stab in hast,
so what can I expect in results,
from such random hopes and jolts
of expectancy.

Had I found that rationale,
that tedious predilection of analysis
perhaps I would guess less,
and make decisions that favored me,
instead a universe abrupt
in its outpouring of balance,
and me, more often without talent
in this regard,
finds solace not, in the mess that ensues,
those things that bruise an ego,
and make me think twice
of my capacity.

Nonetheless, I push on, trying to think,
preserve my instincts that have backfired,
and improve my numbers,
my failing, uninspired record
for poor decisions,
based on what I randomly thought at the time,
hardly sublime my process,
and even when I took to analysis,
it gave me a headache,
upset my balanced sensitivities,
and so I accept this plight, this endless learning.

Our plight certainly is an endless learning process. Very nicely phrased verse, Tony. I love the line: “and even when I took to analysis, it gave me a headache, upset my balanced sensitivities,” which really allows the reader to know you in that moment. Marvelous!

Much appreciated Phyllis, so pleased you enjoyed it. Enjoy the rest of your day or night probably. Its about 6pm here, and we’re having roast pork for dinner. Take care.

You state this is a “satire” Tony. I think it describes my life to a “t” 🙂 Good work.

I guess the satire part is the ‘tongue in cheek’ however it doesn’t mean it’s not true to life. Glad you appreciated it John.
