Love’s delicate countenance, never forgotten…
A Sweet Countenance
Treasured the memories of love’s embrace,
when world was silent, and all else abated
as eyes fixed and minds as one, thrived,
I remember it so well.
And pleasured joy a sigh of past laments,
as nothing matters but love itself,
when two are found and within their souls address
the beauty of life’s sweetest reward.
Joined in selfless giving,
lost in eyes so deep that well is never-ending,
transcending every breath with a warm release,
never can another state fulfill us more.
And time rescinds it’s purpose, its steady count,
to motion an eternity in moments,
and as every touch and embrace imparts
the commitment of an open heart,
life as we know it stands still.
An altered state, a blissful ease too late to grasp,
now a memory of what once was;
oh, if only a rekindled pause from life could take me,
to once again know love’s delicate countenance.
