Without Love On Our Side

Without Love…there is no meaning

Without Love On Our Side
Without Love On Our Side…life is without meaning

What matters, in the end,
is far from what people live in life, and
often found in the wake of tribulations,
at the end of strife,
when torn away those baubles of possession,
the striving for gain and security’s plight,
to realise as it falls away,
love has always been
and will always be, what matters in life.

How conceited we are,
how manipulative and malicious in our greed,
all for the promise of happiness
that leaves us every time in grief,
because without love,
without friendship and compassion,
accumulations of any kind
cannot nurture our heart and soul,
in any fashion.

So why do we so ignore what life offers most,
the possibility of love and connection,
the joy of family, of health and the satisfaction
of knowing whatever happens, in poverty or wealth,
love will hold us up, heal us
and give meaning and purpose to all we’ve dealt,
for pursuits in life are vital, to survive and provide,
but life is empty and pointless without love on our side.

So true, Tony. Without love there is no value, no meaning to anything. Even if one lives alone in the wilderness, love of nature is essential. Wonderful work, Tony.

Love or the aspect of it is what makes the world go around, there is no doubt in my mind. Enjoyed your thoughts Tony.
