Tired of All the Lies

Tired of All the Lies
Tired of All the Lies…cleanse me

Soaked, the rains that wash away the lies,
sympathize with the unraveling of life,
so obliged to undertake the truth, arise
the death of wicked deceit;
and so the wheels turn, the blades fall,
and after all the righteous in discovery,
bring light to shadows portrayed,
laid by the dull minds of falsehood.

Secrets held fall in destined time,
aligned to deceiving minds
who in fear of truth so maligned within,
know that pretence is temporary,
a solitary game we play to convey
those lies we tell ourselves
are just, and not to dwell on truths that sting,
that could change everything.

I love the cleansing rains,
without fear or concern it discerns our dreams,
and what seems deception falls away,
to leave our truths in light of day,
allay our fears and all self-doubt,
about that self we seek to know
is better than we’ve sewn,
better that our hopes have ever known.

What I see within, my every sin,
has been a scar an echo shown
to level my understanding,
my often stubborn standing,
against my imperfection,
the truth of resurrection that saved me from myself,
when all else failed,
paled in comparison to who I could be,
if only I could see that potential.

Cleansing rains, please claim my name
and lead me to rebirth,
for I am tired of all the lies.

Yes, the rains cleanse and deception falls away. I notice that some will cling tighter to their lies, for their own wayward comfort, as their false claims become more evident. It does get tiresome to see them proclaim the same thing over and over even when others know what they truly are behind the scenes. Very well penned work Tony.

Much appreciated Phyllis, so glad you related. By the way, the newsletter cannot be read on my email program. In order to read it I have to copy and paste to get the basic content but not the detail. When I receive it there is no scrolling, so I can’t browse. Not sure if its just me, but I keep forgetting to tell you. I use Incredimail but have never had an issue with it. Cheers!
