Quiet Are The Real Achievers

Quiet Are The Real Achievers
Real Achievers…smiles reward enough

Hallowed are those who love and live without voice,
a proclamation an echo of what they already know,
unless of course others knowing is the need;
for the quiet giving, the selflessness:
never heard, unnoticed to many,
is the most pure of intention, untainted,
and recognition unnecessary and unwanted.

Those who do, have no need to tell,
those who don’t but like to think they do,
broadcast like a frantic media,
trying to convince the world of who they are,
yet for a discerning eye, who they are not,
and so the quiet achievers rule in anonymity,
their altruism a choice, not seeking reward.

The loudest voices, the proclamations of good,
are those we should be least willing to trust,
for they have motives hidden,
the real story beneath skin and untrustworthy,
for giving is without ego, free of expectation,
and those who give, want nothing in return,
just the pleasure of being able to help.

True altruism, is rarely seen,
for those who work to aid humanity
want nothing of recognition,
for the need is not theirs but those whom they aid,
and so the quiet achievers, like angels,
give meaning to life by giving,
and those who benefit know truly what love is.
