Autumnal Music

Autumnal Music

newest-ones-033

Like a cool summer shower on the open flesh
autumn cleanses all
There in the solitude of  open air  I seek and
find the essence of recall

Perhaps it’s the introspect
or the envy of hot summer days
Yet isn’t it fall that clarifies
so sure we  count the ways

Or perhaps the dying away of  a broken promise
spring you evil soul
Or the  opposite of laughing  winter
damn it’s going to  get cold

My love affair  with autumn
unfaithful  my summer heart knows
The colors though enwrap me
in multi colored shows

So let the days grow shorter and let
the night grow long
But always the rhythm of the music
in autumn’s pretty song

Sometime in my life, I started to write about my life journey, in poetry, in story perhaps to sort them out and enter them into a place of safekeeping. The soul of the writer is perhaps best described in their words, emotions and thoughts. If these poems or stories touch something inside you then maybe I have succeeded in sharing. I will not write about my self in profile, because self isn't so important in writing. Only the journey in words and the sharing are important. Why would we say "Now about me!"... I'd rather write about life, nature, serenity ...

Lovely Ed, I miss the feeling and colors of Autumn. Here in San Diego, it is so subtle you really have to look for it to find it. Thank you for taking me there for a moment. Enjoyed it!

    Best,

Such a lovely tribute to Autumn, Ed. I love the picture you chose and your poem is well-written, flows nice and smooth and is a joy to read. Thank you for this moment of beauty.

Beautiful Ed, so compelling the love for this season and your phrases and imagery so rich and inspiring, as you weave a poem of grace and warmth. My favorite season as well, its gentle ebb into the dark and biting winter. great work my friend.

A great description of Autumn, Ed. It is Spring here, which I love, but nothing compares to Autumn.

Autumn does indeed have a pretty song Ed. I could watch and listen to the leaves falling and blowing forever. And those leaves that dance to the song, aren’t they the most magical of all?
