Only Poetic Words

Flowers 012

Only poetic words to express,

what we truly feel,

what we see and how we think.

Poetic words upon a page,

drying along with the ink.

Words that fingertips,

typed upon a keyboard,

coming to life upon a computer screen,

full of emotion,

there they flicker and remain.

Like rivers they can flow,

stutter and trip over stones,

unsure which way they go.

Painters need colors,

imagination and a clever swipe of the brush.

They are always in a rush,

to catch that perfect sunrise or sunset.

Poets need words,

that come dancing,

easily prancing,

like ghostly wisps of wild horses,

through the heavens fly.

As the muses gather about,

as they sing and whisper,

their poetic words,

come flying upon the wind.

They fill poetic ears that strain to hear,

every precious word,

so that they can create a masterpiece,

full of emotion and passion.

As the words fall upon paper,

expressing their innermost thoughts,

emotions leave them reeling,

feeling drained.

While the poet steps out of reality,

into the world the muses inspired,

taking their soul ever higher.

Creating scenes out of a poetic mind,

to delight the muses

and please the readers,

making them into believers.

Showing them a world,

other than the one they know,

expressing a million emotions –

most poetically.

For saying I love, I live, I want, I see –

are only words drifting upon the wind.

Instead it should be –

I love more than stories can tell,

the day we met for you I fell.

You’re my love and my life,

love you till the  end of time.

I live life to enjoy,

to dance beneath the moon and the stars,

that shine so wide and far.

To enjoy every sunrise

and reflect upon every sunset.

I want you more than words can tell,

you are my life and my joy,

nothing in this world,

could please me more –

than to have you by my side,

beside me all through life’s wild ride,

on the starry path to the heavens.

I see so much more than there is to see,

the world is one great big fantasy.

Colors so bright and vivid,

they fill my world,

my heart and soul

and lift to greater heights my spirit.

Each day brings new joy

and fills the treasure chest of my mind,

with sparkling memories,

stoking heart’s passion fires –

so when the muses inspire,

let the poets write what they desire.
