My Resurrection

My Resurrection
My Resurrection…oncoming spring

An imperative, perhaps,
to remedy this lingering malaise,
this dark mental trap,
yet weather still dulls my intent,
so could spring please alight,
give me more than a fleeting light,
a lukewarm shower of half-hearted shards,
that recede, each time I notice them.

Its just my winter down,
the light-less frown of grey skies,
that tugs my heartstrings,
brings a numb resounding hum to my hopes,
rather than a chorus, a crescendo,
to wake my slumber bones to life,
and draw this hibernating fool to light,
a smile reflection of blue skies.

I’m done with winter’s blanket,
fires nice but sun remiss,
and layered are these clothes I wear,
my snowman shape I wish to ware out,
and feel that sun upon my pallid skin,
to know the chirp of morning birds
and wish again, for long days,
where evening meals are witness to the gloaming.

Patient I will have to be,
as sun does take its time
to grace this world with spring,
but it will come,
and new growth already peaking out,
those vibrant greens like glimmers
of what’s to come,
so I sit and type away my day,
cozy in my sanctum, awaiting my resurrection.
