A Simple Leaf…a paradigm of life

A Simple Leaf
A Simple Leaf…a paradigm for life

Each leaf a city, suburbs all demarcated
and tributaries that cause through the landscape,
feeding this world with nutrient green,
vibrant life aglow within the day’s giving light.

And the closer one looks, deep into this micro-world,
the more one sees in human similarity,
communities of life sharing,
fervent motion in maintenance of life.

Each cell alone, a menagerie of living purpose,
many forms and distinct tasks of life prevail,
in perfect harmonious activity,
the precision of which cannot be faulted.

And there are protagonists in this tale,
those that would invade and change the status quo,
so wars ensue, kingdoms to protect,
as even a simple cell mirrors the world.

And leaves yearn for light,
their factories running free and at full capacity,
those leaves glistening in the light,
shiny, strong life, a paradigm.

I so appreciate your way of looking at life, your awareness of the unique pattern of each being. Looking deep into nature gives us so much understanding of life. Great work, Tony.
