Never Let Them See
Love fills the heart –
with magical wonder,
bringing dreams and happy thoughts.
Wanting to spend hours with the one you love,
treasuring all the things you do
and storing them as precious memories in the heart.
When love ends –
as it sometimes tends to do,
it can be most unbearable
and leave you sad and lonely.
You’ll look upon the things you shared together,
having no one just you only.
Never let them see,
the pain you feel.
Keep those lessons of love,
stored for a brighter future.
No one will care that you cry bitter tears,
only those who are near and dear.
So always face the world –
with a smile though your heart is breaking.
Tears are private expressions of grief –
to strangers it does not matter.
So focus on finding a new love,
as the sun is dawning,
knowing a true love might be just around the bend.
Remember that you have all it takes to love
and next time you’ll be all the wiser,
perhaps a forever kind of love will find you.
So while you are waiting –
keep on smiling and dreaming.
Look about you and be aware,
of all the happy lovers out there,
holding hands and stealing kisses.
They know that love is very real,
they’ve found that special key –
to each other’s heart
and they know that they’ll never be alone anymore.
So never let them see,
what is really going on with you.
A brighter day will come –
when all the tears and fears,
of the past years are gone,

Nicely penned Rasma, and yes love does brings us to experience its two extremes: bliss and the agony of loss. It is our most defining experience and also our most challenging, but where would the world be without love. Great work and expression.
Thank you Tony.
Beautifully expressed verse, Rasma. A brighter day does always come along when we least expect it and the heart will find a forever home.
Thank you Phyllis.
“Tears are private expressions of grief” – I so get this, keeping your sorrow tucked away. This was beautiful.
Thank you Lori.
