Unexpected Day…a Winter’s Grace

The Grace of Reprieve…
Sun nods to a vast open sky,
free from cloud and blight,
as slowly it stands tall with pride,
to the pleasured rule of light.
And warmth prevails on a winter’s day,
not recognized at first,
while birds and life from nooks emerge,
to flutter wings and sigh with thirst.
Imbibing day with renewed vigor,
the sun of past not hardly felt,
yet today the diamond dew does melt
so quickly after dawn.
Brisk but under sun,
the day exerts its all in pallid season,
to uplift the souls of all beneath
its momentary vision.
As I stand under the embrace of shards,
mind a wandering to halcyon moments,
I release what chill the night did hold,
and enjoy this fleeting grace, this eloquent sonnet.
For tomorrow may return to nature’s mood,
her winter face and growl,
for now I’ll just enjoy the reprieve,
and give thanks for all endowed.

Glorious sunshine. The warmth greets the face and uplifts the spirit. Such a lovely tribute to the sun and beautiful sky. Well done, Tony.
Thanks Phyllis, yet another weather report, but sun is rare at the moment and one must celebrate when is graces our presence. Cheers!
Beautiful Tony and this took me back in memory to 6 or 7 years old. Looking out the windows with my little brothers, the sun would be so bright across a deep white snow we could not go out in and the beauty of it just burned in my memory forever. Thanks!
A lovely memory Jackie, glad you enjoyed the work. Take care.
