Thoughts Too Many

Thoughts Too Many …

Thoughts
Thoughts Too Many…a mental affront

Way too many thoughts
flounder in the void of consideration,
when suddenly they, like tsunamis
flood my mind in a chaotic tempest release,
battering at my cognizance
for attention and focus.

Like voices crying out in desperate plea,
thoughts of many unsettle my peace
and drag me to disarray,
these voices gruff and demanding,
in extremes and sadly venting
every whim and passing thought evoked.

Often I can silence them,
find solace in a single thought,
to part me from the plethora of noise and confusion
that assaults my quiet mind to a frenzy,
as if none are mine and their affront
targeting my consciousness in spite.

Quietly I must appease their brash intentions,
dismiss the harsh and distasteful,
and hold only that of kind endeavour,
to maintain a mind intent on peace
and a loving existence,
far from the chaos that surrounds me.

To find this peace is often difficult,
as the noise can be overwhelming,
but stillness in time abates this invasion
to find a path of wanted thought,
where love and kindness fashions better outcomes,
in a world filled with frantic pace.

Too many thoughts can indeed crowd the mind, shutting out that which we need to focus on. I certainly relate to this verse, Tony. Finding solace is crucial for peace and organizing, especially for a poet. Very well phrased verse.

Indeed thoughts play heavy on a poet’s mind day in day out. Although we are often inspired with thoughts from every shadow or from deep abyss, nonetheless, thoughts echoed from a poet’s soul are thoughts in need of release, hoping to find another soul who can be touched by our thoughts and heal an aching heart or damaged soul. Moving our fellow man’s thoughts to collide with ours is often rewarding. For all we have are words to shared that come from often, we know not where. So my poetic friend, even though your mind may be filled with thoughts, never stop releasing them upon your subjects, your readers and followers of your thoughts. Well done, well thought out.

Thank you my friend, from a poet who knows my plight and relates. Take care Vincent.
