Thoughts Too Many …
Way too many thoughts
flounder in the void of consideration,
when suddenly they, like tsunamis
flood my mind in a chaotic tempest release,
battering at my cognizance
for attention and focus.
Like voices crying out in desperate plea,
thoughts of many unsettle my peace
and drag me to disarray,
these voices gruff and demanding,
in extremes and sadly venting
every whim and passing thought evoked.
Often I can silence them,
find solace in a single thought,
to part me from the plethora of noise and confusion
that assaults my quiet mind to a frenzy,
as if none are mine and their affront
targeting my consciousness in spite.
Quietly I must appease their brash intentions,
dismiss the harsh and distasteful,
and hold only that of kind endeavour,
to maintain a mind intent on peace
and a loving existence,
far from the chaos that surrounds me.
To find this peace is often difficult,
as the noise can be overwhelming,
but stillness in time abates this invasion
to find a path of wanted thought,
where love and kindness fashions better outcomes,
in a world filled with frantic pace.
