Nature’s Guide…the plan in existence

The world is a fabric
of deeply woven complexity,
each aspect mirroring others,
like a pattern of diverse adaptation
from an omniscient hand,
its bookmarks left for us to fathom,
paths drawn for us to follow.

Interesting how nature itself
is seen as superficial,
just the environment of our being,
when truly it is our teacher
and the detailed plan of existence,
one that includes humanity,
and one that can instigate our demise
if we stray too far.

We propagate the idea we are the apex,
the wielders of power,
yet we are prone to every whim of nature,
every aspect of life our potential foe,
and we still remain arrogant,
convinced we know better,
when we can hardly maintain happiness
in our techno-world of advancement.

We kill one another out of contention,
hatred and fear,
we treat one another with contempt
and competitiveness,
all the while justifying righteous belief,
in a world in which we create chaos,
when animals only kill for food,
are kind and happy within their life’s potential.

We are far from peace,
far from happiness and serenity,
we are far from being able to share,
we do not bend in storms,
and snap under our own weight,
so what makes us better equipped
than a simple plant,
who has evolved beyond our petty contentions?
