In Hast

In Hast …

Hast
In Hast…decisions and mistakes.

When the lines drawn
are from desperation amid the chaos,
our vision may diminish
and blinkered be our single perspective,
smothered by the fears built up
in response to those affronts,
that keep us on the back foot,
tentative and unsure.

Mistakes made, oversights and misdirection,
are all the seeds cast in frantic response,
to secure stability yet by nature erode
all that we have fashioned
for our smooth paths and load, what
we must carry in responsibility of living;
and the sky falls,
the ground rises up to meet our awkward gate.

A sagacious mind is slow to respond,
for in any hast, misgivings flow to disaster,
and we may see in fear those monsters in the room,
that are neither there nor living;
and in calm and considered response,
life is simply a puzzle to resolve,
and all questions have answers,
impossibility just a resignation, not truth.
