In the Arms of Eternity

In loving arms of eternity …

In the Arms of Eternity
In the Arms of Eternity… love’s embrace

Silken touch and velvet words
whispered soft in eloquent verse,
as eyes so deep like bottomless pools,
of yearning souls in the grip of love, do drool
as melding of flesh and mind ensues.

As sensual bliss ignites passion’s kiss,
and warm flesh writhes in arched surprise
as bodies fall to rhythm,
and minds aloft on clouds so high,
as world fades away to a mist of lies.

Here in a world of two,
where nothing can part what’s now infused,
as love enacts its ritual deeds,
and hearts are filled with serenity ease,
to deliver souls to paradise.

Love is all and captivates a soul complete,
to yearn for infinity’s freedom,
and draw from what a soul in essence stands,
to pledge a life that heart’s command,
in the loving arms of eternity.

You romantic, you! Very beautiful expression of love and two souls becoming one. My gosh, Tony, so romantic.

I’ll die a romantic, although tainted and a touch cynical, love always rings true for a romantic. And so I am, and remain, a romantic. Cheers!

You know, this was beyond admiration. How can I not like it? Romance is my favourite genre in prose and poetry. I had written a similar poem, a year ago, perhaps. It’s called “Celestial Season of Love”
The wee hours of morning moist with spring
Muffled up with vibrant autumn trees
Usher a Mellifluous hymn of leaves
    Tumbling down the perennial trees

    Clouds vivifying whimsy of colours
    Resuscitate the emporium of Love
As we coyly stand under a single umbrella
Soaked in water and shivers of chill

Ah! The vehemence of our breaths
    Chiming in cadence tote dryness
Leaving the Soul replenished with thirst
And ‘tis cajoling mind yearning to cuddle

    Standing amidst the cobbled street
Exalting the depths of Romantic milieu
The parched Souls delve into each other’s lips
Invigorating Flames in gelid bodies for sips

The nonpareil Fragrance of our breaths
    Seasoned with silenced reticence
    Gesticulates warmth rushing through veins
    Reciprocating seductive blaze

Let the time clothe into a glacial suit
For the Souls have pined fervently
To see, to touch, to feel the season
    And its Ceaseless ethereal cycle

The piercing eyes feel no carnal shame
For every season has its reason
And every reason has its season
Ah! ‘Tis Love laden with placid thoughts

Let the soul comprehend this feeling
    And perpetuate the rituals
Of this celestial season of Love
For it ain’t a delinquency, nay a Dove.

You are a fine poet Surabhi, your word use and the flow of sound and meaning create some vivid imagery and the lilting sounds of romantic intent. I am a romantic at heart, but I really don’t write much in this genre anymore. I love descriptive poetry, the beauty of nature and philosophy in many forms. I look forward to reading your work and enjoying the nuances of your creative mind. Take care.
