Eternally Held

Eternal
Eternally Held…that potential within

What holds a heart to knowing,
when all else betrays,
when life seems a struggle we just can’t overcome,
and those whom we thought our rocks, turn to sand?

What part of us has faith enough to hold on,
to not let go, regardless of circumstance,
the negative downward spiral of imbalance
stripping us of all our hopes?

There is a thought, a single lingering knowledge
that we will survive, endure beyond facing hardship,
and in that moment of realisation, that epiphany of self,
we understand the stuff from which we’re made.

The truth rings loud and clear,
that we can be indestructible of mind,
and no matter the pain and sufferance
we can endure, beyond the physical, beyond the ego.

What holds us to life,
is the knowing that this is temporary
and that nothing is destroyed, rather transformed,
as life is eternal in its plan and evolution?

This eternity is within us, our bodies and souls,
and if we truly know of it,
life cannot take anything from us,
in pain, in thought, in belief,
for we are life incarnate, beginnings and ends,
cycles of life’s path and purpose.
This is our state of being.
