Tempest

Tempest

tempest

Tempest roar and thunder brood,
grumble clouds and light subdued,
as rain in torrents redress dry earth,
an extreme deft touch in surging flood;
while cries do echo in maelstrom’s din,
life on edge of abyss does cling,
and hope is lost in nature’s sour mood,
ravaged earth and feeble life pursued.

While in the eye of dark reproach,
when malicious harm is seen in scope,
and life is lost so freely in
this wave of reckless wrong in sin;
as souls do pray for salvation’s embrace,
to rise up from this abiding space,
where nature’s wrath is harsh and true,
culling life like penance misconstrued.

I wonder why in such revile,
this conflict of innocence far more than trial,
does quest so many lives in fear,
against all odds to survive the smear;
yet nature’s whim is strong and just,
tis we in weakness for all she must,
and bear the burden of her darkest weight,
the narrow line of human fate.

    You just sort of wound up our spiritual beings Tony! Does fate decide it all? Could be. We can try all we might and still fail, and don’t we really most times? lol
    Great poetry!

    Thanks Jackie, glad you appreciated it. Questions not easily answered and considered without resolve from the beginning of time. Take care.
