Opinionated

Opinionated …

Opinionated…everything is a judgement.

I may admonish the paths of hatred,
exemplify the paths of love,
be confounded by the paths of ambivalence
but dismiss all paths thereof,
for I judge my way through life’s extremes,
both opinions bleak and omniscient,
yet life ensues without my humble touch,
and I, a ripple in an infinite pond,
not valued all too much.

Whatever my stand, my current learned view,
tis but mine alone, and it touches at best, a few,
to know that I assume and manifest what I will,
my beliefs the change of nothing, still…
I’ll spout my words of knowing well,
till someone proves theirs better,
or I fall upon my erudite sword,
and cut what knowledge I’ve absorbed,
from flesh all swollen-headed.

Tis hard to be the one who knows,
the considered, learned master,
when life presents a ragged front,
and each challenge more complex and dire,
and in the end, what do I know,
my wisdom and book-read pith,
is just the judgement of someone else,
and I the wrong version of a myth,
and then, brutally dismissed.

Yes, “Tis hard to be the one who knows,”, but you bear your burden well, and proudly I must say, when looking at the lion. LOL All kidding aside, I enjoyed reading your well-penned verse, Tony.

Glad you did Phyllis, of course very tongue in cheek, and the lion was a find. Take care.

What a suitable photo of an opinionated Lion, I like it. As for opinions and opinionated peoples, I’ve come across many in my travels and careers. There is nothing wrong with having opinions on various subjects, discussions about them, but to say that mine are the only ones valid, is a travesty for sure. I’ve always been open to others opinions and respected them. For those with closed minds and inflated egos, I simply brush them off. Very well expressed Tony as always.

Thanks Vincent, yes I the same, opinions we all have, but thinking we are always right is close-minded and from there we learn nothing. Glad you enjoyed my friend. Cheers!
