Like Rain

Like rain on a summer’s afternoon,
questions arise from a thoughtful mind,
to translate the world that confronts us,
each and every nuance a discovery of intention
and the chosen pathways of our lives.
Seemingly random, life is confronting,
and the more we know the less we understand,
for our souls are fraught with necessary paths
that lead us to experience unexpected,
and lessons necessary in our awakening.
Like the sound of rain,
like time ticking away, one drop at a time,
we live thirsting for reason, for purpose,
and within the folds of despair and penance
for our selfish, misguided deeds, we learn.
In found humility we find comfort and direction,
and within that state we begin to see the process,
the mechanics of life unfolding,
then, with broader perspective we may realise,
what potential we have in humanity.
The sadness is what the world has become,
despite this potential, and so we must hold tight our paths,
to instil the possibilities in those who have lost all hope,
and to reach for the beauty and hold hearts dear,
for what they all contain, for what they can do.
Like the gentle rains of spring, marking renewed life,
we must begin to see the possibilities, not the sadness,
to overcome the lost minds of humanity,
and reinvigorate the truths of collective existence,
as we are made of stars, without end,
and life will always find a way.

“The more we know the less we understand”…so very true. It is sad what the world has become, and each and every soul that can pass even a bit of hope, truly matters. Love the comparison of your message to rain. Just beautiful. 🙂
